The Rotary Foundation is the gas that runs the engine for the 52 clubs in our District.
 
This year's District 6380 Foundation Gala will held Saturday, November 7 at St. Nicholas Cultural Center.
 
"We'll be celebrating an amazing year of Foundation activity," says Foundation Chair and Past District Governor, Janet McPeek (Lake Orion Sunrise).  "We'll be spotlighting the 17 clubs who are involved with grants, our top-giving clubs, and individual donors as well."
 
The 17 clubs doing District grants this Rotary year are:  Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor West, Birmingham, Blenheim, Chatham, Chatham Sunrise, Dresden, Lake Orion Sunrise, Livingston Sunrise, Ridgetown, Rochester, Saline, Tilbury, Troy, Wallaceburg, Waterford, and West Bloomfield. 
 
St. Nicholas Cultural Center is located at 760 Wattles Road, Troy, Michigan 48098. 
 
There is an invitation-only VIP reception at 4:30 PM followed by cocktails and live entertainment at 5PM.  A delicious dinner will be prepared by the legendary Opus One catering team and served at 6:30PM. 
 
The evening is scheduled to wrap up at 9:00PM with a special announcement about next year's event.
 
Gala Event Chairperson, Rene Pothetes (Troy), promises lots of fun on November 7.
 
"Our great Assistant Governors will be greeting guests," said Pothetes. "We'll have a photo booth with costumes, entertainent by the fabulous Nicole New Trio, and a terrific dinner keynote by Rotary Trustee, Bryn Styles."
 
This years' Gala committee consists of Foundation Chair McPeek, event Chair, Pothetes, as well as Fannie Vavoulis, Rika Edwards, Sparky Leonard, District Governor-Elect Barry Fraser, and Past District Governor Keith Koke, all from the Chatham club in Ontario, Canada.  
 
Rounding out the committee is Karen Gabrys (Ypsilanti), Dave Donnellon (Troy), Anne Nautes (Chelse), Past District Governor, Don Riddell (Troy), current District Governor Henry Dotson (Auburn Hills), and District Governor-Elect Michael Angelo Caruso (Troy).
 
"Last year, Foundation giving was up 50% in our District," said McPeek.  "So we can't wait to surprise our Rotarians with details of this year's achievements."
