More good news here at the end of our Rotary year.
District 6380 Foundation Chair, Janet McPeek (Lake Orion Sunrise), reports that all 52 clubs contributed to the annual fund this year. This is the first time we’ve had 100% participation in a long time, so congratulations to all.
Annual giving is important because clubs must participate in order to have grant money return to them in three years’ time. Your generous contributions are used locally and throughout the world to make a significant impact in truly doing good where it is needed most.
The achievement of 100% club participation in annual giving comes in the wake of the $1,225,118 raised at our Million Dollar Dinner on April 1. This affirms that 2016-17 has been a banner year for giving.
Janet, who is currently serving her fourth year as Foundation Chair, has done a magnificent job for us and has announced that she is stepping down from her District title to serve our Zone 29 as Endowment Major Gift Advisor.
Past District Governor, Don Chisholm (Royal Oak), will serve as Foundation Chair next year. Don was Janet’s predecessor in the position and has been active with Grant Committee work for some time.
Thanks again for giving to our top-rated Rotary Foundation during the year of its 100th Anniversary. So far, the total is over $129,000. If you’d like to send in a bit more before June 30th, just contact Janet McPeek at 248-459-1464.
