Last weekend, Lynn T. Morgan, President Elect of Farmington Rotary, completed an assignment at the District 5670 Conference in Lyons Kansas.  He appeared there at the invitation of Rotary International President, Sakuji Tanaka, to represent him and share his important message of "PEACE, THROUGH SERVICE".

District 5670 is located in Kansas, and includes 30 clubs and 1133 Rotarians.  Approximately 95 Rotarians and guests attended the conference.  During the conference, Lynn helped to award a District Rotarian, Keith Hooper, the Service Above Self Award, which is the highest recognition of Service an individual Rotarian can achieve in Rotary.  Keith's award was based largely on his humanitarian efforts to lessen poverty in the Phillipines.

Lynn, and his wife Tina, participated in a humanitarian project during the conference.  The project was packaging 23,000 meals to be shipped and distributed to poverty striken and disaster impacted people, through the Numana organization.  It took just a little over an hour to complete the 23,000 packaging project.  The packaged meals were added to the Numana project for later shipment as needed, to a location of need, possibly Rowanda.

This project and many others support the 2013-2014 Rotary International President Ron Burton's Theme for Lynn's year as President of Farmington Rotary, 'ENGAGE ROTARY, CHANGE LIVES'.
