Editor’s note to District 6380 Rotary Members
So, you might be wondering why there haven’t been many Rotary Newsletters in the past few months. Yes, I know, you have been anxiously waiting for them, and they haven’t arrived every month like clockwork. I can imagine the disappointment!
Well, part of the answer is that a newsletter, whether it be monthly or quarterly, contains content which is inherently out-of-date. To keep up with all the good things that our district is doing, it is much better to subscribe to both the Facebook sites – which have been particularly active.
The new site, referred to as a Facebook “page” – go to
https://www.facebook.com/rotary6380 and select “Like” – is our official site, with announcements and stories moderated by Danielle Hunter. The other site, referred to in Facebook terms as a “group” – go to
https://www.facebook.com/groups/rotarydistrict6380 and select “Join” - contains stories posted by members throughout the district. Subscribing to both keeps you current on our district activities.
So, my goal for the website is to include more and more information on projects, grants, spin-off NGO’s etc that you can look up at any time. The homepage of the district website will continue to include stories (many of which I have been extracting from the Facebook sites), and a calendar of upcoming events. I hope to make the home page simpler and easier to use, but link to more district information over the next few months. Check it out every couple of weeks – as we do change the news stories and header photos about that frequently. I hope to have new pages, accessible from the home page, on District Grants, Global Grants, and Water within the next couple of weeks. And please – send me any information and links on cool projects that your club has been working on over the past several years.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Peter Tanner
