Corn Roast at Annual Fall Fest
October is one of the most beautiful and colorful months of the year and if you visit Clawson’s City Park you will absolutely agree.  Nestled in the center of the city, this large and well cared for community landmark is the scene for the City’s Annual Fall Fest.  Clawson Rotary Club joined in the fun by holding a good, old-fashioned country corn roast.  Rotarians Kevin and Carol Pelkey headed up the project by purchasing all of the farm fresh corn, butter and bottled water sold.  They also handled all of the set-up work immediately before the event.  Kevin was the King Roaster and kept them coming when the crowd started to gather.  President Andy Baetz and his wife Alice along with Past President Renee’ Niewolak shucked, butter dipped and sold the finished product.  One of the primary food vendors was unable to make the festival at the last minute so that helped our sales tremendously.  This is not a fundraiser for the Club but a community/public relations event and a perfect opportunity to spread the word about Rotary and the benefits of membership.
Everyone involved had a lot of fun and we had a number of very satisfied customers too!
