“Growing Rotary’s Economies” are nurtured with more people to help spawn new projects and fundraising ideas.  The words Action and Thrive are synonymous with the need for more people to connect to a Rotary Service experience.  Attracting new members and keeping existing ones requires getting your ASK in GEAR.  If you never ask what they want, how are you going to give it to them?

Instead of “Selling Rotary” we might consider ASKing people to come along on a service project.  We might ASK someone, “what does service look like to you?”.  How about ASKing a member about their passion which might serve as a project idea.
Have you ever heard “I don’t like… (fill in the blank).  If we don’t like something about other people, maybe we should look for what we can like about them.  Are they active in their community, do they like to volunteer, are they upbeat and positive?  Those traits are inner traits, not how we look, how we associate with others or any number of external “looks”.

Let’s try CHANGE and see what HAPPENS!
C – Courage to Take Action
H –Hearing Others Wisdom
A – Attitude is Everything
N – New Ideas are Worth Trying
G – Get Your ASK in Gear
E – Explore the Possibilities

October is Economic and Community Development Month
Nearly 1.4 billion employed people live on less than $1.25 a day.  We carry out service projects that enhance economic and community development and develop opportunities for decent and productive work for young and old.  We also help strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women in impoverished communities.  Check out “Growing Local Economies”
